The first satire, Animal School, was about how many different animals went to a school and were forced to do good in all subjects. The story was supposed to symbolize the education program and teaching methods of schools. This satire pointed out that students are forced to do well in all subjects in school and are not able to focus on the subjects they do well in. I think this is a good practice in high school for it builds a strong general knowledge which I find very important. However, I feel that when students enter college, they should be able to focus on their major and should not be forced to take general education classes. If we did not take all of these gen. ed. classes, we would be able to take more classes pertaining to our major and gain more knowledge and possibly even graduate earlier.

The second satire, Honest College Ad, is a satire about college advertisements and makes fun of their advertising techniques. In this ad, all of the students look happy, but they are saying very negative things about their university as well as college in general. The students talk about getting drunk every night, paying so much for college, and how they do not care about their school work. I find this to be very funny because this is something that occurs at every college, but is always covered up by universities. What I do not like about this ad is that it gives the idea that partying and having fun are the main priorities of all college students, which I do not find to be true. Although having fun and enjoying yourself is important, the main reason most students are here is to further their education and study a career that they are passionate about.
